“We can now fetch safe water from our village well. Our children are healthier and go to school regularly.”
Unsafe water leads to preventable diseases, lost school days, and high medical costs for poor families. Children are the most affected—diarrhea and waterborne illnesses are leading causes of childhood sickness in remote areas. Reliable access to clean water transforms health, reduces poverty, and gives children a chance to thrive.

HIWT works with local partners to survey villages, test water sources, and design appropriate solutions—whether a deep borewell, handpump, or repaired water system. Our teams engage with community leaders, train caretakers, and provide spare parts and maintenance plans so the systems remain operational for years.
Each project is monitored post-installation: we conduct water quality tests, repair visits, and community feedback sessions to ensure impact and accountability. Transparency is central—donors receive updates and reports on completed projects.
$50 / £38 — Provides clean water for a household for months through purification and hygiene kits.
$150 / £112 — Helps install a handpump for a small community.
$500 / £373 — Funds a borewell project that serves hundreds of families.
In villages where HIWT has installed water systems, school attendance has improved, cases of waterborne illness declined, and women report significantly less time spent fetching water. Our community partners share stories of renewed hope and businesses that now operate because water access improved.

“The training helped us manage the pump and collect a small fund for repairs.”
